Hormone Replacement Therapy

Whether struggling with weight, body composition, or experiencing other troubling symptoms, we believe our patients deserve a thorough evaluation to find the best treatment for them.  Hormonal changes occur as we age but also for various reasons including genetics, environmental factors, and medications. We aim to improve quality of life by balancing hormones to optimal levels.

We provide tailored hormone therapy in a safe and supported environment with our specially trained provider Zadi Gillman, DNP.

Our hormone therapy service includes treatment for all of the following conditions:

  • What is perimenopause? Usually beginning in a woman’s 40’s, the onset can be gradual or sudden. It’s common that women don’t realize that their symptoms are even caused by perimenopause. Women often report “I just don’t feel like myself!” Or they have gotten their hormones checked only to be told they are “normal”.

There are MANY symptoms of perimenopause including:

    • Changes in mood

    • Panic attacks

    • Decreases libido

    • Night sweats

    • Hot flashes

    • Irregular periods

    • Breast tenderness

    • Headaches

    • Bloating

    • Digestive problems

    • Joint pain

    • Muscle tension

    • Decreased muscle strength/mass

    • Dizziness

    • Changes in taste

    • Burning mouth sensation

    • Heart palpitations

Hormone therapy can be used to treat these symptoms and help prevent osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease. Schedule a consult to begin.

  • A woman is defined as being in menopause after she has gone 1 year without a menstrual period, the average age of menopause is 52. Many women are worried about hormone therapy following widely publicized and problematic study from the early 2000’s. However, in most cases, hormone therapy is safe and offers MANY benefits to a woman in menopause. Including improved cognitive function, decreased risk of osteoporosis and bone fractures, cardiovascular protection, improved muscle mass, urinary and vaginal health, as well as some aesthetic benefits. Schedule a consult to begin.

  • Sexual issues in both men and women should warrant an evaluation of hormones. These are problems that can be fixed, and people shouldn’t feel they have to simply suffer or “throw in the towel” on this part of their life.

Decreased libido in men or women can be caused by hormonal imbalance or insufficiencies. This can show up as decreased desire (interest in sex), decreased arousal, erectile dysfunction, vaginal dryness, vaginal pain with sex, decreased sensation, and inability to reach orgasm.

These hormone insufficiencies can occur at any age.

  • Men can experience a lot of dysfunction when their testosterone is low. Commonly people associate testosterone with sexual function, and while it is true that testosterone can improve erections and sexual desire, it does SO MUCH more for the body than just that.

When testosterone is low, men can experience:

    • Decreased ability to build and maintain muscle

    • Erectile dysfunction

    • Loss of libido

    • Fatigue

    • Decreased strength and endurance

    • Impaired mood

    • High stress states

    • Increased belly fat

    • Poor recovery from exercise

    • Musculoskeletal pain and stiffness

    • Brain fog

Women have testosterone too! And when it is low it can cause similar issues. Testosterone is also important in women for strengthening bones.

  • There can be many causes for fatigue. We do a comprehensive evaluation that includes evaluation of thyroid function, vitamin deficiencies, as well as hormone health.

In management, we help support metabolic and thyroid health through supplement recommendations as well as medications for hypothyroidism (if indicated).

    Schedule a consult to begin.

Severe disease, if found, will be referred to an appropriate specialist.

  • Hormone imbalance can result in the body making more fat, and less muscle. That’s not just about vanity, more muscle and lean mass is associated with improved longevity. So, by improving your body composition (muscle/fat/bone), you improve your overall health and lifespan.

Our hormone therapy program works synergistically to support those on GLP1 agonists to help ensure optimal health and body composition.
